The practice was commissions to redesign an 1800’s workers cottage to accommodate a young growing family. The house, despite being situated on a small property with a south facing garden, was successfully rebuilt and redesigned to maximise the space and light through the central insertion of a courtyard and plunge pool. Beyond this, a glass hallway effectively links the kitchen and living spaces, and permits the northern light to be captured throughout the majority of the house. A modern approach was taken to ensure that all indoor living spaces seamlessly transitioned outdoors, allowing them to be utilised holistically.
